Emmanuel, last season’s Division four Champions, were off to a good start with a 7-3 win over Godalming K fielding Keith Brown, Stephen Bridle and  Stephen Schofield but thirteen year old Estelle Kelly made them fight all the way with a well-judged maximum.  Other news from Emmanuel was the return of Shaun Robertson, after a serious injury, scoring a triple against College Hill D in a 6-4 defeat.

Division one saw a close encounter between Bramley A and Merrow E, resulting in a five all draw. Nigel Oh was man of the match taking all three singles, sending Merrow to the top of the table. Geoff Nevitt and Peter Palmer replied for Bramley with braces.

In the Fourth Division Cody, showed their credentials, whilst setting an early season pace They defeated Godalming M and Abinger B 10-0 and 9-1 respectively. Norrie Short, Alan Richardson, Ken Thompson and Kim Phillips  are going to be a very good bet for the Championship of this Division. Woking C had a good week in a 10-0 result over Godalming M with Simon Reed, Andrew Bramwell and Skipper Sue Holder emerging triumphant.

In a local Derby, in Division two, Bramley D beat their C side 6-4- getting their fair share of edges and nets at crucial points- with a wonderful performance from Gary Nicholson taking all three plus the doubles. He was however pushed to the limit by Kim Farminer and Steve Palmer both at deuce in the fifth.

Meantime Godalming A continued their mayhem in the Premier with the 10-0 demolition  of College Hill A , dropping just one set in the process. Adam Laws,  Federico Viterbo and  Rob Pountney were the  executioners.
