Guildford TTL Team Handicap – Round 1

A disappointingly low entry saw the need for just 6 first round matches, the winners of those matches joining 10 other teams in the last 16.

The pick of the round 1 matches was the game between Ash C and Woking A which finished 6-6 and therefore went to points scored with Woking edging it 373-359. Game of the evening was between Margaret Thornton and Alex Bolychevsky – giving away 3 points Margaret won 11-4, 11-8 but crashed to a 2-11 defeat in the final leg to leave Alex the winner by 2 points.

The all Godalming affair between the E & K teams resulted in a very comfortable victory for the K’s by 11-1. A few close results but Naylor/Verschoyle/Fenton look to have been in control for most of the evening. A similar situation in the Godalming H and Ash B match – a few close results but a comfortable 8-3 victory for the Godalming trio of King/Brocardo/Florance.

The only other result to hand involves Emmanuel and Bramley E which went the way of Emmanuel by 7.5 to 4.5. Scorecard in the post apparently.

No results received at time of writing for the Challoner C/Bramley C or Aftermath Y/Godalming P matches.

The next round of the team handicap is w/c 5th December. Please check the league website for details of the draw which will be updated once all results are to hand. Handicaps for round 2 will be on the website by 30th November latest.

Just a reminder that the league will hold its handicap tournament on 5th Feb 2017 at the Guildford TT centre. More details will be on the website early January.
