Congratulations to Aftermath D, in the Second Division, who recorded their first success last week, 6-4, against Bramley D. No player was undefeated with braces for Jim Roberts and Dave Thomas from Aftermath and John Diggens and Steve Cheeseman from Bramley. The result leaves both teams at the bottom of the table. Bramley C maintained top spot with a 6-4 win over Woking LTC B. Kerry East and Phil Thompson bagged pairs but neither could get the better of unbeaten Kevin Barkham. Merrow E stay in the promotion race with a 7-3 defeat of Bramley B. Simon Dickinson notched a full house for Merrow with Alan Wan and Trevor Free each contributing a couple of wins. Godalming E lies third after sharing the points with Cranleigh A. Carsten Horne picked up a hattrick and Jason Minoo two for Godalming whilst Angela Coventry won twice for Cranleigh.

In the Third Division Aftermath E emulated their colleagues by gaining their first win, also 6-4, against Godalming H. Ian Deswarte notched a trio with Richard Tapp contributing a pair to Aftermath’s success. David Livingstone won twice for Godalming. Godalming G kept their lead at the top with a 7-3 win over Challoner C. Paul Rumble picked up a full house whilst James Wyncoll won twice as did Tom Taylor-Woodward for Challoner. Woking LTC C got back to winning ways with a 6-4 defeat of Merrow F. Mike Frean won all his games for Woking with Mike Glen notching a duo as did Ashley Barnes for Merrow. Ash C will be pleased with their 8-2 win over Godalming J. Tony Harrison was unbeaten for Ash with Dave Bentall and Margaret Thornton each winning twice.

A surprising result in the First Division with Godalming D thrashing previously unbeaten Challoner B, 8-2. Pavlina Polakova, playing up from the division below was unbeaten with Yawei Wang and Christophe Pietrek recording two wins each. Cody A secured a much needed win, 7-3, against College Hill B. Kin Chan and Paul Shakespeare were both unbeaten for Cody. Bramley A and a two-man Woking LTC A outfit shared the points. John Koenigsberger was unbeaten for Woking with team-mate Kevin Bown winning twice.

The battle at the top of the Fourth Division continues to rage with all the main four contenders winning. Godalming K whitewashed a two-man Cranleigh B side, Ram Sethi, Tim Boxall and Roger Aspital got the wins to keep them top. College Hill E finished Emmanuel’s promotion campaign with an excellent 9-1 win. Paul Stock and Paul Tanton were unbeaten with Peter Norman only losing out to Clive Mattin. Bramley E whitewashed their F team, Bob Holmden, Stephen Pinn and David Barraclough the unbeaten players. Woking LTC D just got the better of Godalming M, 6-4. Chris Kelly, clearly too good for this division, won all his three for Godalming. Mervyn Newell and Malcolm Hollett  got braces for Woking.

In the Premier Division Godalming C and Burymead C shared the points with Jiri Rambousek unbeaten for Godalming. Mark Batt-Rawden and Tim Goodship each won two for Burymead. Broadmoor will be pleased with the 7-3 win over Merrow C that saw Clive Banham unbeaten and Mark Handcock winning twice as did Steve French for Merrow. Burymead B showed their class with a 9-1 win over Merrow B. Chris Bush, Richard Tanner and Michael Hill won all their singles.
