Last Tuesday, at very short notice, I was asked to give a hand at the Sportfest at Surrey Sports Park. It proved to be a very humbling and inspiring experience.

As part of the Olympic legacy every paralympic sport was represented and many medal winners, including Johnnie Peacock, Mark Colbourne etc. were there. I was asked to help with the table tennis. Shaun Newcombe, the ETTA Regional Disability Officer, organised the area and Will Bayley (silver medalist) and Ross Wilson (bronze medalist) gave demonstrations. Over two days more that one thousand people with disabilities attended and on our table we had a continuous stream of people wanting to 'have a go'. I must say that both Will and Ross were a credit to the sport and couldn't do enough to help.

At the last GTTA committee meeting we discussed how we can make table tennis more inclusive and Shaun Newcombe has agreed to come along and talk to our coaches on the subject as part of our Clubmark accreditation.

I attach some pictures and a video as I though that you might like to put them onto the website. The group picture shows me, Will, Ross and Shaun in the wheelchair.
